With our years of experience in preschool education in America,
England, and Germany, we are trying to combine and blend the
best ideas and approaches to preschool education from these 3 countries.
The design of our center is based on the high standards of the
best of American preschools. We have state of the art learning
centers in all of our classrooms with attractive equipment easily
accessible to children. Education experts here in America are
all of the opinion that a well-structured learning environment,
where children can learn to make good choices, is one of the main
keys to successful preschool education. If very young children are
allowed to spend a good portion of the day choosing the materials
with which they wish to play, they are very open to learning
opportunities in all areas of their development, far more so
than if all activities are teacher directed.
In England, the best nursery schools have a high degree
of parental involvement. Recognizing that parents are a child's
first teacher, we know that we can only guide a child towards reaching
his or her maximum potential by developing strong links between
home and school. As well as welcoming parents any time, we
have special events, parent evenings, discussion nights, and parent-teacher
conferences throughout the year. We stay closely in touch with you
at all times to exchange information about your child's progress.
In Germany, education experts stress the importance of "hands
on," age appropriate learning activities for preschoolers.
Froebel, the founder of the German Kindergarten proved that the
long-term memory and the ability to reason are best developed if
as many senses as possible are incorporated into the early learning
process. In other words, abstract learning, such as the use of dittos
and worksheets, is only going to be helpful on a long-term basis
if the child has had a wealth of concrete learning experiences
first. This is absolutely in accordance with all recent brain
research.
